The facilities of the Sport Medicine Centre include 18,000 square feet of research, clinical and therapy areas. There are twelve examining rooms, a 2,500 square foot therapy/teaching area, six administrative offices, four research laboratories and other administrative space. There is a fully equipped x-ray suite, taping and casting room, hydrotherapy room, lounge, storage and other facilities. The facility is highly computerized, with access to University main-frame systems.
The Sport Medicine Centre is adjacent to the internationally recognized sport science laboratory complex (the Human Performance Lab ("HPL") encompassing an additional 12,000 square feet. The HPL is a multidisciplinary research centre concentrating on the topic of Mobility and Longevity.
The SMC is located within the Roger Jackson Centre for Health and Wellness Research on the University of Calgary Campus. The facilities are in close proximity to classrooms, a fitness centre and world-class sport facilities including the Olympic Oval and the National Sport Centre - Calgary. This aspect has created one of the world's finest complexes for research, teaching and training for sport and fitness.
